Global specialty chemicals distributor IMCD has expanded its innovation network with the opening of a new technical centre in Istanbul, Türkiye. The facility is designed to support customers with formulation development, product optimization, technical consulting, and hands-on innovation services across multiple industries.
The new centre becomes part of IMCD’s global network of more than 80 technical centres and laboratories, reinforcing the company’s commitment to helping customers accelerate product development and commercialization.

The facility brings together expertise across food and nutrition, beauty and personal care, pharmaceuticals, coatings, and construction applications under one roof. By consolidating previously separate operations into a larger, integrated location, IMCD aims to provide broader technical capabilities and improved customer support.
A dedicated beauty and personal care laboratory and studio will enable brands to collaborate with IMCD experts on formulation development, sensory evaluation, ingredient selection, and product optimization. The company believes the interactive environment will help customers move more quickly from concept to market-ready products.
The centre also includes pharmaceutical laboratories supporting formulation development and technical consulting for regional markets, as well as specialized facilities for food innovation, coatings, and construction materials.
According to IMCD, all development activities follow internationally accepted guidelines and Quality by Design (QbD) principles to ensure consistency, reproducibility, and product performance.
With Türkiye serving as a strategic hub connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the investment strengthens IMCD’s ability to support customers across the region while providing access to both local and global technical expertise.
