Nemus Pharmaceuticals to set up plant in Dharwad, Karnataka

Will focus on growth in GCC and African countries

Bengaluru-based Nemus Pharmaceuticals will set up a new drug manufacturing plant in Dharwad, Karnataka by April 2021. The facility will be set up as per the guidelines of WHO-GMP and will manufacture topical drugs including anti-infectives like ointments, gels, creams, lotions, gels, soaps, powders and aerosol disinfectants.

The new facility will come up next to the existing manufacturing facility situated in Belur Industrial Area in Dharwad. 

Nemus Pharmaceuticals was established in 2011 in technical collaboration with Dolphin Healthcare Sdn. Bhd., Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2016, the company set up its cosmetic unit near Belur Industrial area complying with the ISO-GMP standards.

The company is in the process to establish a strong distribution network in Asian Sub-Continent, Africa, CIS countries and the Middle East. Its activities are centred on establishing the brands in respective markets for sustained sales. The company exports its products to the UAE and aims to launch its products in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Nepal and Bangladesh. the company has successfully registered its products in the Philippines and Myanmar.

Domestically, the company supplies its products to eight states with over 2000 dermatologists.

According to SK Shetty, MD, Nemus Pharmaceuticals, the new facility will manufacture medicated soaps, topical antiseptic creams, anti-fungal ointments, dusting powder, medicated lotions etc. The facility will help the company focus more on GCC and African countries.
