Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd. (TPL) began its scheduled plant shutdown on December 11, 2025, to finalise the expansion of its Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) facility from 120-ktpa to 145-ktpa. The 8-9 weeks shutdown marks the final phase of the capacity enhancement project, which represents a 20.83% increase in manufacturing capability.
In its disclosure to stock exchanges, TPL stated the shutdown is essential to augment capacity and complete other expansion-related activities LAB serves as a key raw material in detergent production.
